A cyberattack drained $25.6 million in cryptocurrency from unidentified victims, according to blockchain security firm PeckShield. The stolen assets included approximately $6.3 million in aWBTC, $5.1 million in DAI, $4.7 million in WBTC and $2.6 million in Ethereum. The attacker subsequently swapped the funds for roughly 20 million DAI and 3,000 ETH spread across four addresses. According to Nominis, crypto attackers stole approximately $242 million in July, making it one of the heaviest months for crypto losses this year. A total of $1.65 billion was lost during the first seven months of 2026.
