Bitcoin: No More Rumors, Metaplanet Denies Any Sale

Metaplanet transferred 5,014 BTC between its own custody addresses, representing approximately $320 million, without conducting any sale. CEO Simon Gerovich denied liquidation rumors, confirming the company’s 43,000 BTC holdings remain intact. Metaplanet ranks third globally among publicly traded companies holding Bitcoin, behind Strategy and Twenty One Capital, with reserves worth approximately $2.7 billion at current prices. The average purchase price stands at about $95,982 per Bitcoin, creating an unrealized loss of roughly $1.4 billion on paper. The company’s official target remains reaching 100,000 BTC by end of 2026, then 210,000 BTC by end of 2027, representing 1 percent of Bitcoin’s maximum supply.
