Anchorpoint Financial Limited has launched the first phase of its HKD-pegged HKDAP (HKD At Par) stablecoin rollout for institutional clients, with the launch timeline slipping from an original Q2 2026 target to August 2026. The company received its issuer license (FRS01) from the Hong Kong Monetary Authority on April 10, 2026, becoming one of the first two firms licensed under Hong Kong’s Stablecoins Ordinance. The consortium behind the token includes Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong), telecom giant HKT, and Web3 investment firm Animoca Brands, formed as a joint venture in February 2025. Each HKDAP token is pegged 1:1 to Hong Kong dollar reserves held in segregated accounts, with full operational testing successfully completed on Ethereum mainnet in May 2026, involving OSL Group and Futu Holdings, with no tokens in public circulation as of that date.
