Oversubscribed 8,288 to 1: China’s Hottest IPO Hits ‘Embodied AI’ Boom

Unitree Robotics, a Hangzhou-based humanoid robot maker, raised funds in its Shanghai IPO at 150.8 yuan per share, with a subscription rate of 8,288 to 1 and a winning rate of just 0.0181% for retail investors. The company posted revenue of 1.7 billion yuan and adjusted net profit of approximately 591 million yuan last year. Sector investment reached 47.09 billion yuan in the second quarter, more than double the previous quarter. Chinese manufacturers supplied over 97% of global humanoid robot shipments in the first half of the year. However, AgiBot leads the market with 44% global share versus Unitree’s 31%, raising questions about whether IPO demand reflects actual market leadership.
