Micron poised for growth as Nvidia expands memory supplier list for Vera Rubin platform

Nvidia officially qualified Micron Technology as a supplier of high-bandwidth memory HBM4 for its next-generation Vera Rubin AI accelerator platform, alongside Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix. Micron began high-volume production of its HBM4 chips in the first quarter of 2026 with a 36GB 12-high stack configuration offering bandwidth exceeding 2.8 terabytes per second, representing a 2.3x improvement over the previous HBM3E generation. Micron’s entire 2026 HBM production capacity is already sold out under fixed-price contracts. Analysts view this qualification as supportive of Micron’s margin expansion, with HBM4 chips carrying higher margins than commodity memory.
