Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan Chase, believes Gen Z is wrong to doubt the American Dream, which he considers still achievable for the majority of Americans. However, he acknowledges that the dream is indeed collapsing for the bottom 20% of households, whose incomes have not increased in twenty years. According to an AP-NORC poll published in June, only 20% of adults aged 18 to 29 believe the American Dream is still possible. JPMorgan has launched the American Dream Initiative to support small businesses and professional training. Dimon calls on policymakers from both sides of the political spectrum to acknowledge the problem and propose solutions to reduce inequality.
