Bitcoin recorded 2.27 million new wallets and 751,000 active wallets, driven by the Coldcard wallet crisis in which a critical vulnerability reportedly led to the theft of approximately 1,500 BTC from over 4,500 compromised addresses. The stablecoin market exceeded $316 billion, with the IMF warning that local-currency stablecoins could paradoxically accelerate dollarization. Monthly crypto card spending hit a record $759 million, more than doubling year-over-year. Michael Saylor hinted at another Bitcoin purchase by Strategy, which reported $13 billion in unrealized losses, while Brian Armstrong defended Bitcoin as an inflation-resistant store of value.
