Michael Saylor, executive chairman of Strategy, revealed that he used ChatGPT to design new preferred stocks that allowed the company to raise approximately $15 billion for Bitcoin purchases. The firm raised about $10.5 billion through STRC, a variable-rate preferred stock, and roughly $4 billion through other preferred securities. Saylor explained that common-stock sales and convertible bonds could no longer generate sufficient capital to fund large-scale Bitcoin acquisitions. This innovative structure was developed with artificial intelligence because traditional advisors believed no one had ever created such a financial instrument before. Strategy now holds more than 840,000 BTC, making it the world’s largest corporate Bitcoin holder.
