Turkey is set to provide Ukraine with a package of American-made weapons valued at approximately $284 million, including ATACMS tactical ballistic missiles that Kyiv has requested since the early stages of the conflict. The transfer includes 12 M270 Multiple Launch Rocket System launchers, 2,524 M26 unguided DPICM cluster rockets, and 47,000 M509A1 203mm DPICM howitzer rounds. The US State Department notified Congress on August 6 of the proposed sale. Three Turkish defense firms (MKE A.S., ASFAT A.S., and ARCA Savunma San. Tic.) will facilitate the movement of hardware from Turkish stockpiles. The ATACMS missiles, with an operational range of approximately 165 kilometers, could begin delivery as early as late August 2026 pending congressional approval.
