Version 3.3.0 of XRPLD, the reference server implementation of the XRP Ledger protocol, was released with several new amendments including ConfidentialTransfer, the first privacy amendment for the network. This version also retired five legacy amendments: Clawback, fixDisallowIncomingV1, fixInnerObjTemplate, fixNFTokenReserve, and fixUniversalNumber, making them permanent parts of the protocol. RippleX engineer Mayukha Vadari clarified that retiring an amendment means removing the pre-amendment code, not the feature itself, stating this is a codebase cleanup that will not affect any users. The team typically waits two years after an amendment is activated before retiring it, in order to preserve old code for debugging purposes when examining past transactions.
