Russia Arrests Over 20 People in Crypto Network It Accuses of Funding Ukraine

The FSB claims to have arrested over 20 people and shut down nine circuits used to transfer funds abroad via crypto assets. The Russian security service accuses this network of clandestine crypto exchanges of siphoning Russian retirees’ savings to Ukraine. No public evidence has been provided to support the claim of Ukrainian coordination. In response, Ukraine expanded its sanctions to target the A7 network, built around the ruble-pegged stablecoin A7A5, with reported monthly transaction volumes exceeding 5 billion dollars. This network is suspected of being used to pay for electronic components for Russian military use.
