Meta launched a Manus desktop application in March 2026 for macOS and Windows, approximately three months after acquiring the AI agent startup Manus in December 2025. The app features a « My Computer » function enabling local file management and task automation without routing data through cloud servers. This desktop push comes as OpenAI announced similar plans for a macOS « super app » combining ChatGPT, Codex, and Atlas.
