Energy Vault signs $600M contract for AI data center power infrastructure

Energy Vault has signed its largest-ever contract worth $600 million to build 1.25 gigawatts of power infrastructure for AI data centers in Snyder, Texas. Construction on the site began on July 27, 2026 with an initial capacity of 8 megawatts, expandable to 500 megawatts for the full campus. Commercial operations for the first modular data centers are targeted for Q1 2027. Energy Vault provides the complete electrical infrastructure, battery storage and modular capacity, while its partner Crusoe Cloud supplies the compute. The contract represents a significant revenue anchor for the company as it diversifies beyond standalone energy storage systems.
