Long-time Shiba Inu community member Mazrael is warning that a link pointing to the legacy domain shibatoken.com, now deactivated, creates a false impression that the project is dead. This domain, registered three days after SHIB launched in August 2020, had been redirecting to the main site shib.io for years, which is why many partners, directories and listing platforms referenced it. In April 2026, someone with control over the domain deliberately severed the redirect despite the domain being paid through 2027, turning all those links into dead ends displaying takedown notices. Mazrael is urging the community to review and update all SHIB-related links on exchanges, wallets, explorers and partner platforms, directing them to Shib.io, which is now the primary portal to the Shiba Inu ecosystem.
