D-Wave Quantum stock slides despite 1,120% surge in bookings

D-Wave Quantum saw its stock drop 7% to 13% on August 6 after reporting second-quarter earnings. First-half bookings reached $35.5 million, a 1,120% year-over-year increase driven largely by a single $20 million system sale. Q2 revenue came in at $3.1 million, essentially flat year-over-year and below analyst estimates of roughly $4 million. The adjusted loss widened to $0.13 per share versus a $0.09 consensus. Remaining performance obligations hit $40.7 million, a 668% year-over-year increase, providing a floor for future revenue expectations.
