Thailand has officially confirmed the exemption from capital gains tax for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, according to a post by Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao. This measure, effective from January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2029, is conditional and applies only to transactions made through platforms and brokers licensed by the Thai SEC, under Ministerial Regulation No. 399. Transactions on unlicensed or foreign platforms remain subject to standard taxation. Income from mining and staking remains taxable under regular tax rules.
