Ukraine’s military struck two Russian oil refineries hundreds of miles from its border, President Volodymyr Zelensky said. The Slavneft-Yanos facility in the Yaroslavl region, about 274 kilometers northeast of Moscow, is one of Russia’s biggest oil refineries, employing more than 3,500 people and processing approximately 15 million tons of crude oil per year. Governor Mikhail Evraev described it as the largest-ever drone attack on the region, with air defense destroying 93 drones. No casualties were reported, but four people were injured by falling debris. Kyiv aims to reduce Russia’s oil revenues used to finance the war.
