Marc Rowan, CEO and cofounder of investment manager Apollo Global Management, held multiple hospitality and retail jobs before climbing the ranks of Wall Street. He worked as a valet at a luxury hotel, transported vehicles between New York and Florida for seasonal residents, and managed a party goods store as well as a kosher caterer in South Florida. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and working at Drexel Burnham Lambert, he founded Apollo in 1990 with two former colleagues. Now CEO since 2021, Rowan leads a financial giant with over $1 trillion in assets and an estimated personal fortune of $11.1 billion.
