U.S. economy keeps up the momentum, but rising costs put a cap on new hiring

The U.S. economy maintained its momentum in July, with the services sector experiencing robust growth for the sixth consecutive month. The ISM services index rose from 54.0% to 54.1%. However, supply shortages and persistent inflation raised business costs, prompting companies to curb their hiring. Banks, retailers and restaurants drove the expansion.
