Bitdeer locks down colocation lease for massive 225MW AI data center in Norway

Bitdeer Technologies Group, a Bitcoin mining company, has signed a colocation lease for an AI data center under construction in Tydal, Norway. The facility will have a capacity of 180 to 225 MW, making it Norway’s largest AI data center. The tenant is reportedly Volta, an AI cloud startup valued at $2.4 billion, though Bitdeer has not confirmed this information. The installation, developed in partnership with DCI, is targeted for completion by December 2026. This deal represents a strategic shift for Bitdeer, as the company seeks to diversify revenue streams beyond cryptocurrency mining.
