SpaceX has launched a global supplier audit program to completely eliminate China from its supply chain. The company has established a new internal standard called NCNT (Non-China, Non-Taiwan), prohibiting the use of Chinese equipment and the employment of Chinese nationals in operations tied to its contracts. This ban must take full effect by August 2026, though sourcing of essential components from Chinese entities has already ceased. As the US government’s primary launch provider with customers including NASA, the Department of Defense, and the National Reconnaissance Office, SpaceX is effectively setting a new industry standard. Suppliers who fail to comply risk losing their contracts with the company entirely.
