Donald Trump announced on August 2 that he would halt planned US military strikes against Iran after Iranian officials and regional allies requested a diplomatic resolution. The president posted on Truth Social that the decision was « subject to being able to rapidly make a DEAL, » signaling that the military option remains on the table.
