Republican Congressman Thomas Massie of Kentucky has warned that 10% of the entire U.S. national debt will be added during the first half of Donald Trump’s second term, pushing the total debt to approximately $43 trillion. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act, signed on July 4, 2025, is projected to widen deficits by $3.4 trillion over ten years, or $4.1 trillion when including interest costs, according to the Congressional Budget Office. These persistent fiscal deficits are fueling investor interest in Bitcoin as a hedge against currency debasement and dollar credibility erosion.
