A solo miner on CKPool solved a Bitcoin block using rented hashrate that peaked at 100 PH/s, earning an estimated $200,000 in rewards. The block reward consisted of approximately 3.125 BTC plus transaction fees. The cost of the rented computing power was about $25,000 per week, yielding an approximately 8x return. The block was announced by CKPool developer Con Kolivas and marked the pool’s 317th solo block discovery. This is not the first time this strategy has paid off: in February 2026, a miner reportedly rented just 1 PH/s for approximately $75 and also managed to solve a block.
