The omnichain messaging protocol LayerZero has surpassed the transaction volume of the US-Mexico remittance corridor, estimated at approximately $62 billion per year. The protocol has facilitated over $147 billion in cumulative transfers since inception, with over $70 billion processed through the Stargate bridge alone. Stablecoin payment volumes reached $390 billion in 2025, more than double previous levels, with Latin America seeing an 89% annual increase in stablecoin activity. Bitso processed over $6.5 billion in remittances via crypto rails in 2024, capturing more than 10% of the corridor’s market at fees below 1%.
