As of July 31st, no cloture petition had been filed in the Senate, slowing the bill’s progress despite calls from the crypto industry. If a petition is filed by August 5th, senators could vote on cloture by August 7th, but approval would require 60 votes and up to 30 hours of additional debate. The Solana Policy Institute wrote to Senate Democrats Schumer and Thune urging them to bring the CLARITY Act to the floor before the August recess. The odds of CLARITY Act passage have dropped to 33%, their lowest annual level.
