CLARITY Act vanishes from Monday’s Senate schedule, triggering 72-hour countdown to save it before recess

The Senate’s published floor plan for Monday contains no action on the CLARITY Act, with senators only due to reconvene at 3 p.m. for a single roll-call vote on a continuing resolution. Under ordinary Senate rules, cloture filed Wednesday could produce a Friday vote on whether to proceed, not on final passage. Senate leaders have faster options: a bipartisan petition or unanimous consent could accelerate the process before the Aug. 10 state work period. Seven Democratic negotiators said the revised bill fell short, and Senator Elizabeth Warren has opposed it.
