Ripple CTO Emeritus Hints He Is Still Deeply Involved With XRP

David Schwartz, Ripple CTO emeritus, hinted he remains involved with XRP despite stepping away from day-to-day duties at the company. In late September 2025, he announced he would resign as Ripple CTO at the end of the year, while already running his own XRP Ledger node. His recent comments on X reassured XRP supporters who feared he was completely abandoning the ecosystem. A technical issue affecting the XRP Ledger network, related to a manifest flood, was reported in mid-July, causing nodes to lose peers. Version 3.2.1 of the XRP Ledger, released shortly after, fixes the problem by imposing four limits on manifests from unknown validator keys.
