According to Jensen Huang, the massive build-out of AI data centers, estimated at $7 trillion in global capital outlays by the end of the decade, will create numerous six-figure opportunities in trades like plumbing, electrical work, and construction. A McKinsey report estimates that between 2023 and 2030, the U.S. alone will need an additional 130,000 electricians, 240,000 construction laborers, and 150,000 construction supervisors. However, Ford CEO Jim Farley has warned that the country is already short 600,000 factory workers and 500,000 construction workers, raising concerns about whether the country has enough skilled workers to support this infrastructure boom.
