The legislation would replace the Office of Government Ethics, the Federal Election Commission, and the Office of Special Counsel, and explicitly references Trump’s declared crypto revenues along with a family crypto fund linked to foreign governments. This initiative, purely symbolic in the short term, highlights the lack of a legal framework having anticipated a president mixing public office with lucrative personal crypto activities.
