This spectacular rally came after a brutal sell-off earlier in July when SK Hynix had plummeted about 15% in one day. Semiconductor equipment maker Hanmi Semiconductor also jumped approximately 25%. SK Hynix is the world’s leading supplier of HBM chips, which have become a critical component for AI servers, and Samsung is its primary competitor in this segment. Analysts remain watchful of the risk of a reversal linked to the sustainability of AI capital expenditure growth.
