Strategy, formerly MicroStrategy, reported a loss of $8.22 billion in the second quarter of 2026 due to the falling price of Bitcoin. The leading cryptocurrency is down nearly 50% from its all-time high of $126,080 reached in October 2025, recently trading around $64,745, a 26% decline year-to-date. Despite this downturn, Strategy increased its Bitcoin holdings by 11% over the quarter and now holds 843,775 BTC valued at $54.6 billion. The MSTR stock has plunged over 80% from its 2024 peak above $500. The quarter stands in stark contrast to 2025 when Strategy reported net income of $10.02 billion.
