The Ethereum genesis block was mined on July 30, 2015, eleven years ago. The chain has become the second most important blockchain in the cryptocurrency ecosystem with a market capitalization exceeding $230 billion according to CoinGecko. Among the eight official founders, Vitalik Buterin continues to work deeply on the project and remains involved with the Ethereum Foundation, while others like Charles Hoskinson (Cardano) and Gavin Wood (Polkadot) founded their own blockchains. Some founders, like Anthony Di Iorio, attempted to exit the crypto ecosystem, and others like Joseph Lubin built entrepreneurial empires through ConsenSys. Broadly, many of the founders of this so-called « world computer » have moved on from Ethereum.
