Twenty-eight public and private institutions completed Project Agorá’s tokenized payment trials, processing approximately 800,000 Swiss francs across six currencies. The tests involved 30 transactions across 17 scenarios using Swiss francs, euros, British pounds, Japanese yen, South Korean won and US dollars. The protocol used tokenized central bank reserves and commercial bank deposits, with an average atomic settlement time of approximately 80 seconds. The trials demonstrated that tokenization and atomic settlement could accelerate cross-border payments and improve transparency while operating alongside existing banking systems via ISO 20022 standards.
