Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest person, plans to bequeath one-third of his estimated $35.2 billion fortune to charity, amounting to approximately $11.7 billion. His daughter Halima Dangote confirmed to Bloomberg that this decision has been formalized in his will following Islamic inheritance rules, with the entire family signing to validate the pledge. Dangote continues his philanthropy through the Aliko Dangote Foundation, established in 1994 with a $1.25 billion endowment, focused on health, education, nutrition, and economic empowerment. His industrial empire, Dangote Group, the continent’s largest cement producer, plans to list its Nigerian oil refinery publicly in September.
