Crypto records most hacked half-year ever with 212 exploits and $1.1 billion stolen

The first half of 2026 marks the most exploited six-month period in crypto history, with 212 hacks recorded by Blockaid. North Korean hackers account for roughly two-thirds of all losses, according to TRM Labs. KelpDAO and Drift Protocol breaches alone total nearly $577 million, or more than half of all funds stolen. Infrastructure compromises represent 76% of total value lost, despite accounting for a smaller share of incidents. Ethereum and Solana together account for 60% of losses, with $332 million and $326 million stolen respectively.
