Audi continues U.S. product push with three-row Q9 SUV

Audi unveiled its full-size Q9 SUV on Tuesday in New York, the first vehicle with that name for the German brand. The Q9 and high-performance SQ9 variants, which serve as the brand’s flagship models in the United States, start at $89,095 and $119,395 respectively, competing in a highly profitable but crowded segment. The automaker saw sales decline 16% in 2025 and 17% in the first half of 2026, with a 30% drop in Q1 2026, which it attributes to tariffs and the end of federal EV incentives. Audi imports 100% of its products to the United States, unlike BMW and Mercedes-Benz, which have manufacturing facilities on American soil.
