Seagate crushes earnings expectations, reinforcing the AI infrastructure trade

Share

Seagate posted fiscal Q4 2026 results well above expectations with adjusted EPS of $5.71 on revenue of $3.6 billion. Analysts had been expecting adjusted EPS between $5.04 and $5.12. For fiscal Q1 2027, the company projects revenue of approximately $4.1 billion and adjusted EPS of $7.30, representing a sequential revenue jump of roughly 14% and an EPS leap of nearly 28%. The growth is driven by the Mozaic product line using heat-assisted magnetic recording (HAMR) technology, with CEO Dave Mosley citing AI as a fundamental amplifier of data creation and sustained structural demand for high-capacity storage. While Seagate did not mention crypto assets in its earnings materials, the strong AI infrastructure results signal indirect implications for digital asset markets, as crypto increasingly trades as a risk-on asset correlated with tech sector confidence.
