Uzbekistan has established the Besqala Mining Valley, a crypto mining zone covering the entirety of Karakalpakstan, which represents roughly 40% of the country’s total land area. The project, created by presidential decree on April 17, 2026, offers miners zero taxes on corporate income, property, land, and VAT until January 1, 2035, in exchange for a 1% administrative fee on monthly revenues. Only locally registered legal entities can qualify as residents, and miners must channel their proceeds through Uzbek banks. The initiative positions Uzbekistan as a serious contender for global crypto mining operations.
