Recursive Superintelligence signs $400M compute deal with Amazon as AI infrastructure race heats up

Recursive Superintelligence, a six-month-old startup based in San Francisco and London, has signed a $400 million compute agreement with Amazon. The company, valued between $4 billion and $4.65 billion, raised between $500 million and $650 million in a Series A round in April 2026, with the majority allocated to Amazon’s cloud infrastructure. Its investors include GV, Greycroft, NVIDIA Ventures, and AMD Ventures. Led by CEO Richard Socher, the startup is developing AI systems capable of recursively self-improving without human intervention.
