Brookfield Asset Management projects 6.5 GW of AI-focused data center capacity in India, where the country currently operates around 1.5 GW. The asset manager is deploying $11 billion through a joint venture called Digital Connexion, partnered with Reliance Industries and Digital Realty, to build a 1 GW AI-native campus in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, targeting completion by 2030. This investment is part of a $100 billion global AI infrastructure program launched in November 2025, involving NVIDIA and the Kuwait Investment Authority. India’s data center market is expected to quadruple by 2030, amid intensifying competition with Adani Group, Hiranandani Group’s Yotta brand, and global hyperscalers expanding their Indian presence.
