Galaxy Digital has acquired nearly 500 acres of land in McGregor, Texas, to build a massive data center campus focused on artificial intelligence and high-performance computing. The project, internally called Project Merlin, will receive over $400 million in investment and span six to eight buildings with an initial capacity of 74 megawatts, with room to scale significantly. The McGregor City Council approved the project in a 5-1 vote. The facility will create over 30 full-time local jobs with average salaries exceeding $60,000, and the land will be purchased for over $7 million. This expands Galaxy’s Texas footprint alongside the Helios campus in Dickens County, which already boasts over 1.6 gigawatts of approved power capacity.
