CME Group will launch single-stock futures on Monday, allowing investors to hedge or speculate on more than 50 of the largest US companies. These contracts, cash-settled on the closing price of the underlying stocks, will be available 23 hours a day, five days a week. The first attempt to launch this instrument in the US, 24 years ago, was a failure. CME is targeting both retail traders and institutional investors, with 55 standard-sized contracts based on 100 shares and 22 micro contracts including Mag7 tech companies as well as major names like Micron, Pfizer and Walmart.
