Hugo Philion, co-founder and CEO of Flare Networks, has announced the start of a six-month large-scale integration phase aimed at transforming the XRP-based decentralized finance ecosystem, known as XRPFi. Flare’s FAssets system allows users to convert their XRP into wrapped FXRP tokens at a 1:1 ratio, granting access to staking, liquidity pools, and on-chain lending. FXRP issuance has already exceeded 150 million tokens, with Philion targeting up to 5 billion XRP in the long term, representing approximately 5% of the total supply and potentially creating a real shortage on exchanges. The upcoming Confidential Compute technology, based on trusted execution environments (TEEs), will address institutional privacy needs. Analysts recommend realism, however, as the XRP price will continue following broader macroeconomic trends and Bitcoin movements until infrastructure challenges are resolved, particularly the massive inflow of stablecoin liquidity such as USDT and USDC.
