BitMart’s native BMX token crashed more than 55% in 24 hours after the platform announced its definitive shutdown on July 26. The token’s market capitalization collapsed from nearly $100 million to a range between $30 million and $55 million. BitMart immediately suspended new registrations, deposits, and orders, with a complete halt to trading services scheduled for August 26 and full operations ceasing by January 31, 2027. The exchange, operational since 2017-2018, cited operating conditions, market environment, and future strategic direction as reasons for the closure, with no mention of hacks, insolvency, or regulatory action. The BMX token, an ERC-20 token with a total supply of 1 billion, will effectively see its utility drop to zero once trading ceases.
