The six largest technology companies collectively issued approximately $244 billion in bonds globally through mid-July 2026, more than double the 2025 record. In 2025 alone, five major AI hyperscalers issued $121 billion in US corporate bonds, vastly exceeding their $28 billion annual average between 2020 and 2024. Nvidia raised $25 billion in June 2026 and Amazon targeted at least $25 billion in July. Analysts project total US investment-grade bond issuance will reach $2.46 trillion in 2026, an 11.8% increase, with AI-related capital expenditure identified as the primary driver. The non-dollar share of issuance doubled to 30%, with records set in euro, sterling, yen, Swiss franc, and Canadian dollar markets.
