The FBI identified Zyaire Dontaevious Zamarion Wilkins, 21, as the alleged financier and marketer of a Steam malware campaign that infected approximately 8,000 devices, accessed about 80 cryptocurrency wallets and stole at least $220,000. Investigators used Google cookies, Uber Eats records (over 500 orders totaling more than $9,000), Bitrefill data and phone records to establish his identity. A search of Wilkins’ Florida residence uncovered a Monero seed phrase tied to a wallet with approximately 1,233 XMR in cumulative transaction activity, worth roughly $382,000. Wilkins, arrested on July 14 in Virginia, faces one count of conspiracy to obtain information by computer for private financial gain.
