Nifty Gateway, one of the pioneering NFT platforms founded by twin brothers Duncan and Griffin Cock Foster in 2020 and acquired by crypto exchange Gemini, will cease operations on February 23, 2026. Since January 24, 2026, the platform has entered withdrawal-only mode. During its existence, Nifty Gateway paid out over $500 million to artists and hosted landmark sales such as Beeple’s CROSSROAD NFT for $6.6 million in February 2021. Gemini’s decision to shut down the platform comes amid declining activity and a strategic refocus of the group.
