Anton Bukov, co-founder of DEX aggregator 1inch, claims he was fired in late November 2025 and says he remains a 50% shareholder but has no operational role. 1inch disputes this account, saying Bukov was not a direct employee and had not been actively involved since December 2025. He is now building a new infrastructure startup called Second Tier, which has disclosed no funding, team, or product details so far. The split stems from a strategic divide: while 1inch has been courting traditional finance and institutional clients, Bukov says he wants to build an open financial system with no friction and no middlemen. 1inch says its protocols and systems continue to operate normally, with trading volumes of about $2.7 billion over the past 30 days and the 1INCH token carrying a market value of roughly $104 million.
