A Revolut user sent $5,000 worth of Bitcoin to Satoshi Nakamoto’s legendary wallets over the past 24 hours. The transaction, made from the fintech’s shared hot wallet, first included small test transfers of just a few cents, followed by a final tranche of 0.033 BTC, worth approximately $2,170. The funds were sent to the Patoshi network, a vast structure that mined during Bitcoin’s earliest days and now holds 1.11 million BTC, worth approximately $71.1 billion at current prices. This money is irrecoverable since the private keys of this network have never been used since Satoshi Nakamoto disappeared, making any donation permanent. Among the possible explanations: a symbolic gesture of gratitude, an attempt to attract attention from trackers, or simply a copy-paste error.
